What is Thomas the Tank Engine?

Thomas the Tank Engine is a fictional steam locomotive in the children's book series "The Railway Series" by the Rev. W. Awdry. He is depicted as being cheeky, mischievous, and often getting into trouble due to his curiosity and impatience. Who is Salty?

Salty is a fictional diesel shunter locomotive in the children's television show "Thomas & Friends". He is painted red with cream stripes and carries the number "2991" on his side. Salty has a distinctive accent, which is meant to reflect his origins in the dockyards of Sodor. He is a friendly and hard-working engine who enjoys telling stories to his friends.
