Amazing! Last time I won was 2011. I won with a promo I voiced for Sport Relief on BBC Radio 1. The VOX Awards are recognised in our industry and have been running for 20 years. The competition is organised by Voiceovers.co.uk and I follow it every year, so I'm so pleased that they've given me the award for Best Male Voiceover this year! I think any voiceover artist gets work off the back of their portfolio, but it always helps to be recognised by the most prestigious awards!

A Little Information about the VOX Awards

The VOX Awards run every year, and they're usually held in October. What makes the VOX Awards so special is that they focus on voiceover, celebrating and focusing on the industry's various different areas. Here's a rough, but not exhaustive list of the awards:

A Little More about Voiceover Awards

As I said before, it's mainly a voiceover artist's showreels that secure most of our work. It's my numerous Santa voiceover jobs, for example, that ensure I get asked to do more work the following Christmas! And it's my extensive experience with explainer videos that have encouraged new clients to get in touch. However, the awards can help some us shine a little brighter than the others and it's always great to be recognised by my peers. I have won 3 VOX Awards in the past and I've even been a finalist on three different occasions for the larger SOVAS (the Voice Arts Awards in Hollywood).
